Natural river sand is the loose granular material which play the role of the skeleton or filling in concrete. Coarse aggregate and fine aggregate are included. Coarse aggregate, including pebbles, gravel, slag, etc.; fine aggregate, including fine sand, fly ash, etc.

The diameter of the aggregate below 4.75 mm is fine aggregate, commonly is known as sand. Sand can be classified into natural sand and artificial sand by natural sources. Natural sand come from the natural weathering, water handling and sorting, stacking form, particle size less than 4.75 mm of rock particles, but does not include soft rock, weathered rock particles. Natural sand, including river sand, lake sand, mountain sand and desalination of sea sand.
